Five Honorable Mentions for Kelly Greene in SongDoor 2009 - January 8, 2010

Rock Singer-Songwriter Kelly Greene is still reaping the success of her second release "I Wish I Was Alive" the latest of which has come through the international songwriting contest SongDoor. Kelly has received five honorable mentions across two categories, with one of those songs receiving special recognition from the judges.

Songdoor, based out of Nashville, TN, selects only five finalists in each of six categories, Country, Christian, Pop, Rock/Alt, Soft Rock and Instrumental, which makes for some super-competitive competition when it comes to getting into those top five spots. The 30 finalists are then narrowed down to select one grand prize winner. The 2009 contest was judged by Jason Blume, Brady Seals, Steve Avedis, Robert Reynolds, Tony Raine, and Dennis Winters. Tony Zotta, President of SongDoor, placed a note on the website stating that there were so many songs that deserved to be in the finals this year, that they called out the few songs the judges felt deserved special recognition.

The songs penned by Kelly Greene receiving honorable mentions are:

In the Rock/Alt category...
"Bottle of Crazy"
"I'll Miss You When You Go"
In the Soft Rock category...
"Is It Too Much"
"Stare At The Sun" (special recognition)

Kelly Greene on 91.3FM WVKR - July 10, 2008

WVKR listeners have been listening to tracks off of Kelly Greene's new album "I Wish I Was Alive" for three weeks already on Sharon Panaro's Wednesday night show, Regional Frequency. Kelly dropped by the studio last night and spent an hour chatting with Sharon live on air about everything from songwriting to the discipline and drive it takes to become a successful independent artist. She clearly fits in with the WVKR family of music and gave a great acoustic performance of two of her songs along with her guitarist Jonathan Dale. The two of them played "Bottle of Crazy" and "This Town" out on acoustic guitars toward the end of the hour before listeners were reminded to come out on Friday, July 11, to Poughkeepsie venue, The Muddy Cup at 8PM, to meet Kelly in person and enjoy a full acoustic set. Kelly Greene: Standing Room Only At The Cutting Room - June 22, 2008
